Michigan Medicine Timekeeper Update: June 19, 2020

New hire use of COVID PTO

The U-M COVID-19 PTO, issued in March, is only available to those employees whose start date is prior to June 8, 2020. Any employee hired on or after June 8, 2020, will only qualify for the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act (EPSLA) hours of time and, after 30 days of service, becomes eligible for the Extended FMLA paid time.

Early biweekly payroll cutoff during July 4th week

A reminder of important dates for the biweekly payroll run the week of the July 4th holiday:

  • Early biweekly payroll cut-off: 10 a.m. on Monday, June 29
  • Payday: Thursday, July 2
  • University-recognized Holiday: Friday, July 3

The off-cycle payroll will run as usual on Thursday, July 2. However, we anticipate that our office as well as the Central Payroll Office will be busy given the special payday, so please submit correction forms requiring off-cycle payment as early as possible to ensure timely processing.

Who to contact

Reference sheets have been created to help both Michigan Medicine employees and timekeepers identify who to contact with employment-related questions. The guides can be shared within your department and are intended to better service our customers with direct contact to the various resources available within the Michigan Medicine HR department and other related areas.

Time Report Recipient Back Up (new field available)

The Time Report Recipient for each department ID (M-Pathways) should have the department timekeeper listed, or the person responsible for timekeeping and pay. Previously, only one Time Report Recipient could be listed for each department ID. Recently, an additional field was made available called “Time Report Recipient Back Up.” This change allows up to two people to receive reports and audits sent out by the Michigan Medicine Payroll Office. To assign both the Time Report Recipient and the Time Report Recipient Back Up for each department ID, you can complete the Department Maintenance Form.

Updated Pay Analyst contacts

The Michigan Medicine Payroll Office has updated our pay analysts contacts for each business unit. Note who will now be supporting your area. The list is also available here.
