December Monthly Pay Date Change

U-M is moving the monthly pay date for December to the last workday of the month, December 31. This change goes in effect this December and aligns the December pay date with the pay dates for the other 11 months in the year.

We understand that some monthly employees appreciate receiving their pay earlier in December due to the holidays. At the same time, however, we also received a number of complaints from employees in prior years because their next monthly pay wasn't issued until five to six weeks later, at the end of January. In addition, paying on the last workday of December will help ensure a more complete payroll as fewer prior-period timesheet adjustments will need to be processed due to a later time-entry cutoff.

If you have any questions regarding this change, please email us at HR-Payroll@med.umich.edu.
