Help us to update our contact list
In an effort to ensure the MMHR-Payroll Team analysts have current and accurate contact information for all departments, please take a moment to review the information we have for your department/s and update, if necessary.
- Visit the MMHR-Payroll Timekeeper Contact List. This will require you to log into google using your uniqname@umich.edu address and Level 1 password, with DUO.
- The spreadsheet will open in View Only mode. To edit, you’ll need to click the Open with Google Sheets button at the top of the screen.
- Identify all of your department/s on the list (departments are listed in depID order).
- Verify and/or complete the information under the blue column headers. It may be necessary to insert additional rows for each department ID where there are multiple primary timekeepers. Here’s an example of a department using three timekeepers:
If you need assistance with completing this information, contact Kim Wehrmeister (kmeistr@umich.edu).
EPSLA overuse audit (PEL)
There is one more pay period to make any corrections to EPSLA overuse. All corrections must be submitted in the timesheets before the last 2020 bi-weekly payroll on December 28.
For those sending in correction forms, they must be received by the end of this week (Friday, December 18) to allow enough time to make the adjustments needed to balance the hours in the system.
Prior Period Adjustments replacing overused PEL with PTO
If an employee has overused “PEL” in a previous pay period and you are changing those hours to PTO, verify the employee had enough PTO in their bank at that time and currently in the bank. The easiest way to confirm this is to use the query: MTL_LEAVE_BAL_BY_PLAN. Run the query with the “From Date” as the first day of the pay period being changed, and the “Thru Date” as the current date. Verify that the employee’s PTO balance was never lower than the amount of hours being changed.
For example, if you want to change 16 PEL to 16 PTS, then the employee’s PTO balance cannot be lower than 16 hours for any pay period between the one being changed and the current pay period.
EFMLA cannot be used during a holiday or holiday school break
Since many schools are closed next week, a reminder that Expanded FMLA (PFL time reporting code) cannot be used during holiday or seasonal school closures. This also applies to child care centers that close for the season or holidays.
Non-Bargained For recognition bonus pay date
The $500 recognition bonus for qualifying faculty and non-bargained for staff is scheduled for the last bi-weekly paycheck of December and the December monthly paycheck, both distributed on Thursday, December 31, 2020.
As with all paydays falling on a holiday, the bi-weekly paycheck will be adjusted to distribute on Thursday, December 31, 2020, instead of on Friday, January 1, 2021. This is the final paycheck in December and in 2020.
