Michigan Medicine Timekeeper Update: June 23, 2021

Access Change to Maintain Time Reporter Data

Beginning July 28, 2021, those with the TL_Punch_Time_Entry_User role will no longer see ‘correction mode’ as an option. Previously, these users could update the “time reporter type” and “TCD Group” for an employee who will be using Punch or Web Clock time collection by adding a row or using correction mode to edit a historical row, a function within the Maintain Time Report Data in MPathways.

Moving forward, users will no longer have access to the correction mode functionality resulting in no longer being able to make changes to historical data. This prevents anyone from overriding history which does result in incorrect paychecks when it occurs.

Changes can still be made by adding a row with a subsequent effective date on the page. A new process has been developed for your use. Please review the process carefully and let us know what questions you have.

You may contact the Michigan Medicine Payroll Office at HR-Payroll@med.umich.edu with questions.

Update from Last Week: Employees in Self-service Workgroups sent over on the Onestaff file

Last week we included a segment where we directed departments to stop sending employees over on the Onestaff interface file that were in self-service workgroups. Following further discussions with customers and our technical team we are retracting that directive, meaning you may continue to send them over at this time.

Ideally, anyone assigned to a self-service workgroup enters their own time in the electronic timesheet through the Employee Self-Service page on Wolverine Access and the Supervisor electronically approves it.

We realize setting up a department for self-service forces all employees assigned to that department ID to be moved to the self-service time collection method (workgroups that start with “S”) with the exception of Regular Biweekly paid Nurses and those in a Punch workgroup (workgroups that start with “P”).

If there is an option to move staff that are not actually using self-service time collection to a department ID that is not set up for self-service then please do so. If that is not an option then you may continue sending those staff over on the Onestaff file until further instructions are shared. If you continue sending them over I highly recommend reviewing their payable time before each payroll runs to make sure nothing is coming through that should not be; to ensure an accurate paycheck.
