AFSCME and Trades bargained for staff appointed to Michigan Medicine departments, who are active on December 1, 2023, will have 32 hours of PTO/ Vacation hours, prorated by FTE, added to their banks per those bargaining agreements. The hours will be available for use starting November 26th, 2023.

The additional hours will be added after the December accrual loads. This gives the employees the entire month of December to use any excess hours that exceed the maximum allowable balance. Once January’s accrual is loaded, any hours that exceed the maximum allowable balance + one additional accrual will be lost. Please remind employees of this so that they can plan time off as needed.

As a reminder, this annual load is in lieu of using season days which are available to campus appointed employees. An audit will be conducted in January to ensure AFSCME and Trades bargained for employees appointed to Michigan Medicine departments have not reported Season Days.

When emailing the MM HR Payroll Office, send emails directly to your assigned pay analyst rather than sending to the entire team unless you’ve gotten an out of office message. This reduces email traffic and supports a faster response time.
