Reminder regarding all payroll cut-off processing
All time reporting and approval processing needs to be done before the payroll cut-off morning. There are numerous reasons for this. Here are just a few:
- You may need Payroll assistance reassigning approvals for supervisors who are no longer employed with the organization or responsible for the approval.
- There may be exceptions (errors) that need to be addressed after time admin runs on the reported/approved time
- You may need to check to see how to report time for someone out on Extended Sick leave
- You need to run these queries to audit timesheets:
- MTL_NOT_ON_RPTD_TIME_GROUP (finds staff who have not reported their time yet)
- MTL_RPTD_TIME_NA_GRP (time that’s not approved yet)
- MTL_LVE_BAL_GROUP (check to see that no one is over-reporting their leave banks)
- MTL_RPTD_TIME_VS_STDHRS_BW (ensure time is reported up to standard hours)
- MTL_PAYABLE_TIME_QTY_GROUP (make sure all time goes through to payable time as expected)
- MTL_EXCEPTION_GROUP (check for errors by static group)
- MTL_EXCEPTION_SUPERVISOR (check for errors by supervisor ID)
Mark your calendars to do these tasks no later than the day before payroll runs. Or sooner! You may want to do these steps a couple times during the pay period so that you aren’t trying to do it all at once right before the cut-off.
