Michigan Medicine Timekeeper & Approver Update: February 10, 2022

Fluid Time Reporting - What is not Changing?

  1. Review paycheck page
  2. Leave Data pages
  3. Queries (link)
  4. Steps to a Successful Payroll (link)
  5. Time Reporting Codes
  6. Payroll Deadlines and Cut-off’s
  7. Job Data pages
  8. All of the processes and procedures in running a payroll
  9. Time Entry for those employees who fill out paper timesheets and/or have their time entered via an interface file

Fluid Time Reporting - What’s New?

There will be new ways to enter and view time, including some that make mobile time entry and approvals viable, where applicable.

The “old” Elapsed Timesheet page is going away.

New options (dependent on the type of time reporter) are:

  1. Enter Time - used by self-service time reporters, timekeepers, and approvers (most like the “old” Elapsed Timesheet page)
  2. Weekly Time - used to enter time on multiple days in a week, one code at a time, by self-service time reporters, timekeepers, approvers and used to view punches and time entered by punch and web clock time reporters (available on mobile devices)
  3. Report Time - used to enter time one day, one code at a time, by self-service time reporters, approvers, and timekeepers (available on mobile devices)
  4. Time Summary - used to view reported and payable time for self-service time reporters, approvers, and timekeepers

Depending on the type of time reporter that is logged in to Employee self-service,  the above options will be available after clicking on the Time Reporting Tile. In addition each type of time reporter will see the View Leave Balances tile there too.

Time and Labor WorkCenter - Approval and Delegate Approval Page

When an approver or delegate approver clicks on the approval page links in the top left corner of the Time and Labor WorkCenter a list of transactions (punches, submission of time) that need approval will be displayed instead of a list of employees who have time that needs approval.

This change could become unmanageable so we recommend all approvers using a desktop or laptop device go to the Enter Time page to review and approve time. Those approving time on a mobile device, such as a cell phone, will have to use the Approval and Delegate Approval Pages as Enter Time is not available for those devices.

All of the new time entry pages will be added to the Time and Labor WorkCenter in the links section.

A new Tile called Time Entry Pages will be available on the HRMS Homepage in M-Pathways that will include all of the new time reporting pages as well as links to the Time Summary, Manager Exceptions, Time and Labor Work Center and Manage Search Options pages.

Fluid Time Reporting - Overview Videos and Overview of Changes Document

By now your head may be swirling with all of the new terminology and trying to visualize these new ways of reporting time so here we will provide video’s used in a recent Unit Liaison Meeting and an Overview document that will walk you through some of the features and new pages.

The Payroll Team is working on additional demo videos based on user type (i.e. self-service approver, or punch time reporter, etc.) that we will be using for the Webinar next week. These shorter demo videos can be used to send to staff and anyone that can’t make it to the webinar so they know what to expect. We are creating a new page on the MMHR Timekeeping and Pay website to house all of the resources & videos for the Fluid time entry and approval pages.

Overview of Changes

Note: This is a lot of information. I’m recommending you spend some time with it this week. As you review the above videos and the Overview of Changes document above, take notes and write down all your questions. Bring your questions to the webinar on February 15, 2022 at 2pm. Reviewing and writing down your questions will prepare you for the information we will share during the webinar.
