U-M Health Timekeepers & Approvers Weekly Update: June 28, 2024

Biweekly Audit Report Update

Information was sent out about the Biweekly Audit Report in March regarding updates being made to improve the report. Previously we had a lot of rows showing up that were non-issues.

Biweekly Audit Report Article - March '24

The Biweekly Audit Report compares reported time with paid time and surfaces employees where there is a variance which is an indicator of either incorrect pay or incorrect time reporting. Therefore, each item that shows up on the report needs to be reviewed and acted upon to fix errors.

The report was not sent directly to departments this week for the payroll that ran on Tuesday, but instead the pay analysts have gotten the report to review. Only those items that need correction will be sent to the timekeeper for correction.

Please be sure to take action on notifications sent to you as soon as possible. If you need assistance, work with your pay analyst without delay.

Reminder! Early Off-cycle Payroll Cut-off Next Week

This is a reminder that due to the July 4 holiday on Thursday, Off-Cycle Requests will be due on Tuesday, July 2 at 11:00 a.m.

Holiday – Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (Clarification)

An oversight was discovered in the UMPNC nursing contract regarding the way Holiday is reported and paid for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA’s) in paragraph 351C.

351C reads:

With the exception of Thanksgiving week, CRNAs may be scheduled to work their full appointment fraction during holiday weeks. Selection will be made among volunteers in seniority order during the annual holiday request period, based on available hours. The holiday will be prorated based on usual shift length and appointment fraction for weeks in which the full appointment fraction is worked.

The red bolded language struck through above was intended to be removed from the current contract as it was intended for all nurses to no longer have their holiday prorated in any circumstance.

Please update any existing documentation you have on holiday time reporting to reflect this correction.
