The first bargaining session took place on Monday, Jan. 13, with discussions largely focused on establishing meeting protocols and sharing drafts of initial proposals. More substantive updates will be shared when more information becomes available.
In preparation for these negotiations, both bargaining teams participated in a leadership workshop facilitated by the Center for Positive Organizations in the Ross School of Business. The goals of this workshop were to help the bargaining team members leverage their individual leadership skills to influence more mutually beneficial outcomes. Additionally, the group discussed strategies and approaches to create a more positive organizational climate and maintain positive energy, at the bargaining table and beyond.
Michigan Medicine remains committed to these strategies, to negotiating in good faith, and to communicating with our teams and broader campus community.
The next bargaining session will be held on Monday, January 20.
