Negotiations continued over the last two weeks as Michigan Medicine and MNA/UMPNC representatives met to review the status of current proposals and continue discussions. The teams did not reach any additional tentative agreements but did engage in very productive conversations.
Conversations focused on issues related to workplace safety, staffing and scheduling procedures, overtime and on-call procedures, and other considerations specifically for NPs and APRNs.
Several representatives from Michigan Medicine also attended negotiations this week to provide presentations on workplace safety, Work Connections, and Michigan Medicine’s newest Care at Home initiative. Presentations were designed to provide more information on each area/program and provide MNA/UMPNC representatives time to ask questions and gather additional information.
Additionally, the teams discussed how to better utilize Joint Implementation Team meetings to problem solve issues related to implementation and administration of the contract throughout the duration of the agreement.
