- Total 21% across-the-board increase over four years
- A $4,000 lump sum bonus for all bargaining unit members in active employment status as of the effective date of the agreement (prorated for appointment)
- Continued proposal for a new salary step model for NPs that includes annual increases and lump sum payments that average a 20% increase over the term of the four-year agreement
This generous financial offer represents our continued investment in our exemplary nurses.

- Maintaining current benefits including health care premiums and retirement match
- Maintaining the ability to use incremental PTO
- Ending the practice of posting multi-unit positions
- Introduction of a new charge nurse differential
- Increases to shift and weekend differentials beginning in FY24

Below are some updated FAQs that will provide additional information.
FAQs
Q: How long is the $4,000 lump sum bonus available for?
A: The bonus will remain on the table until a tentative agreement can be reached.
Q: What are the next steps?
A: Michigan Medicine will meet with MNA/UMPNC next week to continuing negotiating over open proposals. Once a tentative agreement is reached on all of the open issues, it can be brought to members for a ratification vote.
Q: Is Michigan Medicine proposing a limit on incremental PTO?
A: A previous proposal made by Michigan Medicine did include a limit on the amount of incremental PTO hours nurses could use. After listening to feedback from UMPNC, we have removed that limit from the proposal.
Q: Are dual-unit positions still going to be posted?
A: Michigan Medicine will no longer post multi-unit positions but will continue to post dual-unit positions to help us meet staffing needs on units.
