New Queries - Audit Punch Shifts that Start at Midnight

If a shift starts at midnight and the employee punches in via timeclock or WebClock before midnight, the hours for that shift will be reflected on the incorrect day, and if so, will require a manual adjustment to move the hours to the correct day.

An employee that uses punch time entry starts their shift at midnight (12:00:00 AM) on 3/1 Wednesday but punches in 5 minutes early (11:55:00 PM) on 2/28 Tuesday. The hours for that shift will be added to the system on 2/28 which is incorrect. The supervisor or timekeeper must manually enter a new start time and enter the actual punch start time in the comments, so the hours show on 3/1. The other option is to delete both punches (add start and end times in comments) and manually report the REG hours on 3/1 without punches.

Ideally, staff working shifts that start at 12 midnight will punch in right at 12 midnight and no later than 5 min 59 sec after 12 midnight, so the hours do not need any manual intervention.

To catch these errors, use the following queries:

These queries will bring back all punches on or after 11:45 PM and before 12:00 AM. They are new queries, so if you run into any issues, please let us know.
