Nurses ratify contract with U-M Health

Nurses represented by the University of Michigan Professional Nurses Council (UMPNC) have voted to approve a four-year contract with University of Michigan Health.

The competitive employment agreement provides a four-year, $273 million package that includes a 22.5% raise over the course of the contract, a $5,000 bonus for each nurse, elimination of mandatory overtime and expanded staffing guidelines.

MNA/UMPNC Update: July 5, 2022 - Details on current proposal

Over the past three months, representatives from Michigan Medicine and MNA/UMPNC have been meeting to negotiate a new contract for nurses at Michigan Medicine. Our hope is that we can reach an agreement very soon to limit the disruption of having an expired contract. The current contract expired on June 30, 2022. This week's update includes details of the current Michigan Medicine proposal, which increases our investment in our nursing teams, and further addresses operational improvements.
